What to do now

Stay safe around sewage, limit water use, note what you see, then request a visit.

1. Stop using sinks, baths, showers and toilets that are backing up.
2. Keep people and pets away from sewage; keep electrics away from standing water.
3. Note whether upstairs and downstairs drains are affected.
4. Photograph any overflow or inspection chamber if it is safe.
5. Send the request form.
6. Contact your insurer or landlord if sewage has entered the home.
